At YMCA Earth Friendly Family Fun Festival on April 26th from 12:00-4:00 pm

Milford, MI, April 2014 – In conjunction with the Green Team and Carls Family YMCA's Earth Friendly Family Fun Festival, Huron Valley State Bank and Elizabeth K. Deutch, CFP® are cosponsoring the community shredding program on Sunday, April 26, from 12:00-4:00 pm, at the Carl's Family YMCA at 300 Family Drive, Milford.

Following the end of tax season, employees of the bank and Elizabeth K. Deutch, CFP® from Deutch & Associates, an Ameriprise Platinum Financial Services® practice will be on site to assist participants with shredding needs. Oakland County residents can bring up to six boxes (12 inch by 24 inch) or large kitchen sized garbage bags at no charge. Large metal clips and spiral bindings should be removed in advance.

This is Huron Valley State Bank's fifth year sponsoring the program and Deutch & Associates' first year. "The Green Team of Huron Valley and the Carls Family YMCA are grateful for the combined partnership that we have with Huron Valley State Bank and Deutch & Associates. They handle highly sensitive documents on a regular basis, understand the importance of proper disposal, and are both outstanding organizations in the community. It simply made sense to have both Huron Valley State Bank and Elizabeth Deutch representing the shredding program," stated Sharon Peterson, Carls Family YMCA Community and Financial Development Director.

This is the 9th year the Carls Family YMCA and Green Team of Huron Valley are offering the "Earth Friendly Family Fun Festival". It is open to the public, and YMCA membership is not required. Other activities occurring throughout the day include environmental learning stations, arts and crafts, a tree ceremony for earth day, and there will be entertainment and giveaways.

In addition to shredding, the Green Team has arranged for recycling of many other items including gently worn shoes, old eye glasses, and used hearing aids. In addition, cell phones, chargers, old computers and electronics will also be recycled with absolutely no parts going into a landfill and all parts safely recycled with no personal information at risk. Also non-perishable items are being collected for Community Sharing and the Salvation Army Truck will be on site for donations.
